JOHN LOUIS KAZDA

John Louis Kazda, age 78 of Albany, passed away Sunday morning, Jan. 3, 2021 at home with his family by his side. Services were held Friday, Jan. 8 at Jesus of Nazareth Catholic Church in Albany with burial following at Kirk Ledbetter Cemetery in Throckmorton County. 

John was born Jan. 27, 1942 in Waco, Texas, the son of Louis and Mary Pavlas Kazda. He was a 1960 graduate of Abbott High School and a 1964 graduate of Texas A&M University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Education.

ELGIN RAY (PUNK) JONES

Elgin Ray (Punk) Jones, age 93, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021 at his home in Mentone, TX. He was born Sept. 25, 1927 in Coleman County to William Lafayette and Oddie Martha (Snedegar) Jones. Elgin married Mary Belle Steddum on June 7, 1950 in the Ibex Community and they shared 70 years together.

William Hallman

William Prestridge Hallman, Jr. (“Bill”), a beloved husband, devoted father, benevolent curmudgeon, respected lawyer, and incomparable friend, died from complications of cancer at home surrounded by family on Nov. 30, 2020. 

He left with no regrets, having lived a life of love, friendship, travel, meaningful work, and generous service. His steadfast moral compass and excellent judgment were invaluable to many people and organizations in the Fort Worth community and beyond.

OBBIE CUNNINGHAM

Obbie Lee Cunningham, 65, of Clyde died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020 in an Abilene hospital. A graveside service was held Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Albany Cemetery with Jonathan Jarratt officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. 

Obbie was born Oct. 28, 1955 in Breckenridge to Obbie Thomas and Inous Marie (Dillard) Cunningham. He graduated from Albany High School and then attended Cisco Junior College. 

CAROLYN WALLER

Carolyn Guinn Waller, age 68 of Albany, passed away at home on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020. A memorial service was held Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020, at the outdoor pavilion of the Albany Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home of Breckenridge.

J.E. MIKESKA JR., M.D.

J.E. Mikeska, Jr., M.D., age 93 of Albany, passed away Monday, Nov. 30, 2020. Graveside services were held Tuesday, Dec. 8 in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. 

Joe Edward Mikeska, Jr. was born to Joe and Lillie (Malechek) Mikeska on Oct. 30, 1927 in Concho County, Texas. His soul departed from this planet on Monday, Nov. 30, 2020 at 9:00 p.m.

Judy Ann Davis

Judy Ann Davis, 73, of Pearland Texas, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 1, 2020. 

A virtual celebration of life will be held at 6:00 pm on Dec. 11, 2020 . You can contact the family for information. An interment will follow later at the Albany Cemetery. 

She was born Judy Ann Brown on the 4th of April 1947 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Ralph Eugene Brown and Marie Edwards Brown. She graduated from Albany High School in 1965. 

ROY EUBANKS

William “Roy” Eubanks Jr, a resident of Albany TX and proud member and participant of the Fort Griffin Fandangle, passed away Nov. 13, 2020, at the age of 81 while in Hendrick Medical Center. 

Roy is survived by his brother, Jackie Eubanks of Hamilton, Texas and sister Carol Sue Bunce, and husband Charles, of Irving Texas. 

CARRIE GREEN BAGLEY

Carrie Louise Green Bagley passed away into God’s eternal heavens on Nov. 25, 2020, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Midland, Texas. She will be cremated and buried in the Green family plot in Albany, Texas, with a graveside service held at a later date.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Morehart Mortuary. 

She was born in Brownwood, Texas, on Oct. 28, 1932, to Louis Fisher and Carrie Crosby Green. Her childhood was spent in Albany where she attended grade school through high school and attained the honor of valedictorian of her class. 

RUEL TABOR

Ruel Tabor, age 104 of Moran, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020. A graveside service was held at the Moran Cemetery Pavilion Monday, Nov. 16 with Pastor Jerry Shields officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Ruel Elizabeth Rice was born Nov. 4, 1916 in Sedwick, Texas to parents, John Rice and Hattie Scott Rice. She grew up in Shackelford County and attended Moran High School. Two years later, she married Boyd Tabor on June 27, 1936 in Moran.
