BOBBIE MAYFIELD

Bobbie Mayfield, 92, of Abilene, passed away on April 12, 2022 in Abilene.

Graveside services were held Friday, April 15 at Elmwood Memorial Park. Services were under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Bobbie was born in Jones County to Jody and Bessie Proffitt on March 9, 1930. She went all through school and graduated from Anson. She married Robert Mayfield on Sept. 3, 1948 in Anson.

Bobbie worked in sales for Andrews Furniture. She served as president of Albany PTA and Albany Study Club, as well as being a Sunday school teacher for First Baptist Church in Albany, WMU Circles Albany, and Wylie Baptist Church.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband Robert, three sisters, and two brothers.

She is survived by her children, Christie (Joe) Key, and Joe (Sheila) Mayfield; brothers George and Cecil Proffitt; grandchildren Lorie Haas and Rob Key; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to Wylie Baptist Church. Bobbie’s family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to her special friend, Pearl Jamison, and all the great people at Wesley Court.
