William “Bill” Edward Booker, respected and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend died on April 18, 2022. He was surrounded by family at his home.

Bill was born in Abilene, Texas to parents Mr. Frank M. Booker and Mrs. Gladys Ruth Sedwick Booker. Bill grew up in Albany, Texas until age 18, then graduated from the University of Florida where he played football on a scholarship from 1954 to 1959. He worked for Baroid from 1959 to 1968. He married Tommie in 1966 and moved to McAllen, then Alvin, later returning to Houston. Bill was the president of two companies in Houston, Weatherford American Areo and Dixel Manufacturing Company in 1968.

At age 40, Bill started his own company called The Drigmud Company and built the Booker Building, housing his 218 employees. Bill continued to work in the drilling fluids business until his middle 80s. Bill loved the industry, and it brought him many friends over his 86 years.

Bill and Tommie had three wonderful and loving children, their daughter Renee Prejean, oldest son Johnny Prejean, and son Jno. Brittson Booker. They have three granddaughters, Alexandria, Brecklyn and Morgan and their grandson William Brettson Booker. They have two great grandsons, Shepherd and Jackson.

Bill and Tommie are members of the Tallowwood Baptist Church in Houston and have lived in Houston the majority of their 56 years of marriage.

The Celebration of Life plans will be later in the year and announced at that time. PD
