Harold Wayne Taggart passed away on Apr. 23, 2022, in a Galveston hospital.  A private memorial will be held by the family at a later date.

Wayne was born Oct. 4, 1938 in Toronto, Ohio to Harold and Nellie Taggart.  He graduated from Toronto High School in 1956.

After graduation, Wayne joined the Air Force where he served four years.  He was a Crew Chief for Dyess Air Force Base.

After leaving the Air Force, he married Gwen Burton (deceased). Wayne worked as a deputy for Shackelford County for 11 years.  He and Gwen lived in Moran where they raised their two children, Tammi and Steven.

He was a school board member of the Moran ISD for 18 years as well as a Mason.  Wayne made many friends wherever he went.

Years passed, and Wayne moved to Cisco where he met and married Barbara Carnes (deceased). He worked for the Cisco Post Office for 27 years before retiring.  After retiring, Wayne and Barbara moved to Novice, to the farm, where he became a licensed concealed carry instructor.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Gwen, his daughter Tammi, and late wife Barbara.

Wayne is survived by his son Steven Taggart and wife Michelle of Moran; one brother, Don Taggart and his wife Charlotte of Albany; one sister Louise Barnett and husband John of Ohio; several granddaughters and great granddaughters. PD
