RUEL TABOR

Ruel Tabor, age 104 of Moran, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020. A graveside service was held at the Moran Cemetery Pavilion Monday, Nov. 16 with Pastor Jerry Shields officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Ruel Elizabeth Rice was born Nov. 4, 1916 in Sedwick, Texas to parents, John Rice and Hattie Scott Rice. She grew up in Shackelford County and attended Moran High School. Two years later, she married Boyd Tabor on June 27, 1936 in Moran. 

JIMMY BROOKS, SR.

Jimmy Brooks, Sr., age 72 of Moran, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020. Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 19 at Moran Cemetery Pavilion. Interment will follow under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Jimmy T. Brooks was born Feb. 16, 1948 in Cisco, Texas to parents Jim Tom Brooks and Ray Nell Williams Brooks. He grew up in Moran and was very active in FFA, stock shows, and all sports for the Moran Bulldogs. 

LOUISE SHELTON

Louise Estelle Garlitz Shelton was born Feb. 15, 1916 in Moran, Texas to Herman and Maudy May Brown Garlitz. She left her home here on earth on Nov. 1, 2020 at the age of 104 years. 

Visitation will be held Thursday, Nov. 5, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Morehart Mortuary in Albany. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, 2020 at the First Baptist Church in Albany. 

Burial will follow in the Ledbetter Cemetery at Fort Griffin, Texas. 

SHIRLEY WILLIAMS

Shirley Williams, age 58 of Albany, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020. Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 10 at First Baptist Church of Albany with John Viertel officiating. Interment followed in the Albany Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. 

Shirley Lee Campbell was born July 24, 1962 in Front Royal, Virginia to Manley Cletus Campbell and Lena Louise Robinson Campbell. After high school, she attended McMurry College where she earned her degree in education. 

HERBERT HAWKINS

Herbert Hawkins, 71 of Albany, passed from this world on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2020. A graveside service celebrating his life was held Monday, Oct. 12, at the Albany Cemetery Pavilion under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home. Jim Cox officiated the service.

Herbert Wayne Hawkins was born on Oct. 24,1948, in Gorman, Texas, to parents Herbert C. Hawkins and Mary (Waters) Hawkins. The family later moved to Albany, Texas, where he graduated from Albany High School in 1967. 

Rebecca Trueheart Brown Rogers Hutcheson

1951-2020

Rebecca Trueheart Brown Rogers Hutcheson died peacefully at home on Oct. 5, 2020, surrounded by her family following a brave battle with cancer. A Texan with deep roots, Rebecca was born Sept. 21, 1951 to Susan Judd and Joseph Chenoweth Brown. Named for her great aunt Rebecca Trueheart Turnbull, Rebecca was faithful to its meaning:  the tie that binds with pure love.

JACKIE MITCHELL

Jackie Mitchell, age 76 of Albany, passed away Monday, Oct. 5, 2020. 

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Albany Cemetery Pavilion, officiated by Stewart McWilliams, son-in-law of Jackie and Carolyn. 

Jackie’s wishes were to be cremated. There will be a gathering time afterwards at MMPC Fellowship Hall.

RICKEY EDGAR

Rickey Edgar, age 69 of Albany, passed away Friday, Oct. 2, 2020. Graveside funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 4 in the Moran Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Pleasant officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.  

Rickey Doyle Edgar was born June 20, 1951 in Albany, Texas, to parents Richard Wines Edgar and Bonnie Lee Garrett Edgar. He graduated from Moran High School and then served in the United States Army. 

BURL DAVIS, SR.

Burl Davis, Sr., age 84 of Breckenridge, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020. Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 26 at Hart Cemetery with Rev. Tom Moore officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. 

Burl Winfred Davis was born Sept. 27, 1935 in Viney Ridge, Oklahoma to parents, Glen Roe Davis and Lorene Emma Heatley Davis. 

His family moved to the Elliott Ranch near Moran when he was a child, and he attended schools in Moran and Albany, graduating from Albany High School in 1953. 

PATRICIA BALES

If a gentle woman will be considered great in the Kingdom, Patricia Ann Bales has found greatness. Born in Clarksville, Texas, on Feb. 10, 1940, she was the oldest child and only daughter of Hawk and Lois Bales, sister to Frank, Kenneth and David.
