Carroll Wayne Hogan Sr, age 89 went to his heavenly home Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022. Services were held Wednesday, Feb. 9, followed by graveside service at Murray Cemetery in Carbon, Texas, officiated by Jody Forbus.

Carroll Hogan was born April 21, 1932 in Eastland County to Ella Mae Petree and James Edward Hogan. He married Leta Nell Norris May 28, 1955 in Carbon, Texas. They had six children, 14 grandchildren, and 41 great grandchildren. Carroll loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them whenever he could. He loved family reunions and was a renowned musician and piano player who enjoyed performing musicals alongside his family and friends in the surrounding community. He loved hunting with his coon dogs, Bosco and Rock, two of the many coon dogs he owned. Carroll was also an avid domino player and could play for hours on end.

Carroll Wayne served in the United States Army. He worked and retired after many years of service from the Texas Inspection Service.

Carroll is survived by one sister Jo Ann Hull from Brownwood; six children, Beia Deniece Schkade and husband Harold of Albany, Texas, Carroll Wayne “Bubba” Hogan Jr. of Albany, George Edward “Eddy” Hogan and wife Susan of Gorman, Leta Elaine Eaves and husband Bobby of Albany, Christopher Dirk Hogan and wife Sheila of Albany, and James Dale Hogan and wife Debbie of Gorman.

He was preceded in death by his parents James Edward and Ella Mae Hogan, his wife Leta Nail Hogan, three sisters Jimmie Kinnard, Oma Lee Carlton, Shirley Lavern May, and three brothers Arvil Glenn Hogan, James Lynn Hogan, and Bobby Gene Hogan.

Pallbearers were Jacob Schkade, Trey Hogan, Joshua Eaves, Jeremy Eaves, Kyle Hogan, Rusty Hogan, James Hogan, and Jason Hogan.
