Albany High School students will vote next week for the seniors to be named Homecoming King and Queen.  Last Friday, Sept. 28, each of the four classes at AHS selected nominees for king and queen from among the seniors.

The staff at The Feed Store have planned a couple of high school student parties to take place this weekend since the Albany varsity Lions have a bye this week. “Friday night will be for the guys,” said youth minister Levi Herron.

The fourth annual Fort Griffin BBQ Cook-off “Battle for the Blade & World Championship Dove Competition” took place last weekend and winners were declared in several categories, as well as the overall champion Clinton Ullmann.

An Albany junior high runner earned his third top 10 medal in as many meets when local athletes participated in a Haskell event on Sept. 19. Eighth grader Isaiah Carrillo was sixth of 59 junior high boys in the two-mile course.
