Local church to host ‘The Patch’

Hundreds of pumpkins, a petting zoo, games, children’s activities, a concession stand, and a fall bake sale are just some of the things that will be available at “The Patch” located in the Bank Park this weekend, hosted by Bethel Assembly.

“We would like to invite you and your family out to ‘The Patch’,” said member Betsy Spraberry. “We will have free games to play with your kids, a pumpkin story time, free s’mores in the evenings, several photo stations for fall family pictures, a pumpkin walk with giveaways, a petting zoo on Saturday afternoon, and a giant twister game and a jump house on Sunday afternoon.”

The family friendly fall event will be open this Saturday, Oct. 6 from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 7 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.

A concession stand will be offering Chick-fil-A meals on Saturday evening, a different meal deal on Sunday evening, and caramel apples and kettle corn both days. Bake sale treats can also be purchased.

“We will have a pumpkin market with hundreds of pumpkins in all shapes and sizes for all of your fall needs,” Spraberry said. “Children’s train rides are just $1. You won’t even have to leave town to spend a fun day with your family!”

Proceeds raised at the event will be used for church outreach in the local community, Spraberry added.

May Farm from Hawley is providing the petting zoo animals.
