Hale named Leadership Scholar

Each year Ford selects 10 FFA members from across the entire state of Texas as Leadership Scholars, and this year Albany High student Seth Hale was among the winners. Applicants must be juniors in high school when they apply in January and must have met the requirements of the Lone Star Degree.

Retiring local educators to be honored

The community of Albany is invited to attend the Albany ISD retiree reception, which will honor retiring Albany ISD staff members Danita Johnston, Lavelle Vinson, Karen Martin, and Debra Overton. The reception will take place on Thursday, May 23, at 2:30 p.m.

The annual Father’s Day golf tournament, hosted by the Albany Golf Club, is questionable at this time. Increased rain during recent weeks has impacted the state of the course, leading to speculation that the two-day event may not take place.

Park plans trail driver cooking event
