Cub cheerleaders can still sign up

By Jillian Lucas The echoes of chants and cheers will be heard throughout the high school campus as Cubs Cheer Camp is set to begin Monday, July 26.  Camp will be held at the AHS gym from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. July 26 to July 28. Campers who are pre-registered are guaranteed a cheer shirt.

Girls conditioning continues

25 students attend preteen camp

2 water stations installed

AHS band rehearsals underway

By Sidney Bartee Summer band rehear­sals started Monday, July 19 for percussion with the rest of the band members scheduled to join on Monday, July 26. Percussion practices start at 3:00 p.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. The title of this year’s marching show is “Tales of Arabia.

FFA recognitions awarded

By Jillian Lucas Five members of the Albany chapter of FFA attended the Texas FFA State Convention and Rodeo in Fort Worth recently, accepting several awards during the five-day event. In addition, a couple of local residents were honored by the organization for their volunteerism.
