FBC changes JAM time, plans retreat

First Baptist Church’s youth group and Jesus and Me (JAM) kids will both meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. this spring, a few minutes later than in the fall. The time was changed so that all Wednesday night sessions would begin and end at the same times.

Robert Dale Latimer, 42, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019 at his home in Bedford, TX.  A memorial service for all friends and family of Robert is planned for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Throckmorton, TX.

Dolores Geneva Michalk Barnett, 86, of Albany and formerly of Bishop, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Jan. 4, 2019. She was born on May 30, 1932, in Bishop, to Alvin and Ernie Michalk.  Dolores married Melvin Urban on Aug.

Donations still sought for scholarship

During September, on the late Robert Nail’s birth date, and on through the Albany High School homecoming week in October, support was sought during the annual fundraising drive for “Dollars for Bob’s Scholarships.

December sales tax rebates up 34.5% for City of Albany

AISD classes to resume Tuesday

The two-week Christmas break will end and students and staff of Albany High School, Albany Junior High School, and Nancy Smith Elementary School will be back in class on Tuesday, Jan. 8 to start the second semester and the fourth sixth weeks of the 2018-2019 school year.
