Albany News

First Baptist Church’s youth group and Jesus and Me (JAM) kids will both meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. this spring, a few minutes later than in the fall.

The time was changed so that all Wednesday night sessions would begin and end at the same times.

The first meeting of the new year will be on Wednesday, Jan. 16.

The youth group meets in the church basement year round, and all secondary students are welcome to join.

Children in kindergarten through sixth grade are welcome to attend JAM for a meal and Bible stories. JAM meets on Wednesday evenings throughout the school year.

Ladies Retreat

Local ladies who wish to attend the FBC Ladies Retreat in Ovalo on Jan. 18-19 need to sign up by Sunday, Jan. 13, according to pastor Jeff Turner.

The sign-up sheet is located on the church office door.

“All ladies are invited,” said organizer Brandi Balliew. “We will have games, crafts, fellowship, and food at the retreat.”

A $40 registration fee includes three meals and lodging.

The group will leave Albany at 5:15 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, and return to town around 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, according to Balliew.

The group will be studying Ecclesiastes 4:9-12.
