Robert Dale Latimer, 42, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019 at his home in Bedford, TX.

A memorial service for all friends and family of Robert is planned for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Throckmorton, TX. A graveside burial service for Robert’s family will be scheduled later. The cause of death is currently undetermined.

Robert was born on July 9, 1976 in Albany, TX to the late L.D. Latimer and the late Mary Ann Graves Green. Robert was the youngest of 11 children and spent his earliest years in Albany before the family moved to Fort Griffin and later to Throckmorton. Robert attended elementary school, junior high school, and senior high school in Throckmorton.

From an early age Robert loved anything with wheels on it, and the faster he could drive it or the faster he could ride it, the better he liked it. That may be what prompted Robert to originally study auto mechanics after high school.

However, Robert later found his true calling in the construction industry. Robert had training and work experience in general construction, as well as the electrical and HVAC trades, and eventually opened his own business, Latimer Construction and Handyman Services LLC. Robert also enjoyed writing, drawing, the outdoors and photography, specifically landscapes and Texas sunsets!

Robert faced many challenges and hardships throughout his life, but you could not have asked for a more compassionate person to ever be a part of your life.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, L.D. Latimer and Mary Ann Graves Green; and two brothers, Tommy Latimer and Joey Latimer.

He is survived by several brothers and sisters: Jim Latimer and wife Sylvia of Germany; Candy Dunn and husband Mickey of Flower Mound, TX; Jeff Latimer of Midland, TX, Diane Carroll and husband Will of Throckmorton, TX; Della Beasley and husband Craig of Abilene, TX; Larry Latimer and wife Kristi of Lamesa, TX; Wesley Latimer and wife Sharon of Omaha, NE; and Kevin Latimer and wife Tina of Childress, TX. Robert was also survived by his children, including his oldest son, Noah Navarro of Throckmorton, TX; and his oldest daughter, Samantha Latimer of Haltom City, TX; as well as other family members including uncles, cousins, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church, Throckmorton, TX.
