Lapp, Hise qualify for regional

Kobee Lapp earned gold at the area track meet in Dublin on Monday in the triple jump with a distance of 42 feet six inches, outdistancing both his nearest rival at area by over a foot, and his own winning jump at district by almost three feet to advance to regional competition.

Moran Easter egg hunt set April 19

Early voting to start Monday

Early voting for the May 4 local elections will begin next Monday, April 22 and run through Tuesday, April 30, with two Albany city council positions and two Albany ISD seats to be decided by voters. A third AISD seat is uncontested, along with the Albany mayor’s post.

After waiting 20 minutes for a quorum, three members of the Shackelford County Hospital District’s board of directors called a traveling board member on the phone in order to pay bills. Vice president Janna Ledbetter called the district portion of the meeting to order at 6:19 p.m.

AHS counselor Dee Dee Waggoner has scheduled a dual credit meeting for 5:30 p.m. this afternoon, April 18 in the Albany High cafeteria. “We will host representatives from Cisco College’s dual credit and financial aid departments,” said Waggoner.
