Lapp, Hise qualify for regional

Kobee Lapp earned gold at the area track meet in Dublin on Monday in the triple jump with a distance of 42 feet six inches, outdistancing both his nearest rival at area by over a foot, and his own winning jump at district by almost three feet to advance to regional competition.

Lapp also qualified for the regional meet in high jump and long jump, taking the fourth place medal in each of those field events.

Johnnie Hise took bronze in the 800 meter run to earn a spot of her own at the upcoming Region 3 meet.

The Bulldogs placed fifth in the 4x200 meter relay, and are the area alternates. 

The Lady Bulldogs 4x200 meter relay team took sixth.

Also earning points at the meet for Moran were Dariann Hawley and Jaylynn Roberts. 

The boys varsity earned a total of 22 points for ninth place at the meet.

The girls also claimed ninth with 14 points.

The top four places at area qualified for the 1-A Region 3 track meet to be held at Whitney High School on April 26-27.

First and second place winners at the regional competition will advance to the state meet  in Austin on May 10-11.
