By Kathy Thomson The 2019-2020 school year starts at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 26 for students in the Moran Independent School District, and staff members have been busily preparing for their arrival. “Teachers have been hard at work getting their classrooms prepared,” said new principal Jo Hise.

Jerry Davis, age 75 of Breckenridge, passed away Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019. Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 18 at Morehart Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Mark Wilcox officiating. Interment followed in the Hart Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Bobby Joe McCoy, 81, of Abilene and formerly of Albany and Cisco, passed from this life Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019 in Abilene.

Jim Stuart, 70 of Albany, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019 at his home. Celebration of his life was held Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2019 at the First Christian Church of Albany, with Dennis Patience and Brad McBee officiating the service.
