The fifth and sixth grade youth basketball teams’ season ending tournaments took place on Saturday, Feb. 8.
Results from three of the four teams were reported in the Feb.
The monthly country and western musical will continue this month on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the Moran Community Center.

A winter storm moved through the area last week, dropping temperatures, cold rain, sleet, and snow.
On Monday, Feb. 3, the high was 73 degrees, while thermometers struggled to reach 37 degrees just one day later.

The first Winter Encampment at Fort Griffin State Historic Site is being hosted this Saturday, Feb. 15 by members of the park’s Living History Association.
The event is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Shackelford County senior adults (60 and up) are invited to attend the Shackelford County Resource Center’s February senior luncheon to be held on Friday, Feb. 14 at the Youth Center beginning at 11:15 a.m.

Tomorrow, Feb. 7 the Albany Chamber of Commerce will hold the annual membership meeting at the Beehive Restaurant immediately after the 12:00 noon luncheon, and all members are encouraged to attend.
The agenda is expected to include a financial report and electing of directors.
Grant Head of Albany was recognized on the Dean’s Honor Roll for the fall semester by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University.
Head is the son of Kelly and Sara Head of Albany.
