Fandangle rehearsals continue

This week Fandangle rehearsals moved outside to the lot next to the Bank Park and began a twice-a-week schedule, with practices at 7:30 p.m. on both Monday and Thursday evenings. “The outside rehearsal on Monday was great,” said artistic director Lorna Ayers.

MARIANA GREEN

Mariana Green was born Nov. 16, 1959 and grew up on the Green Ranch, just east of Albany, Texas; she was the youngest of the three children of Bob and Nancy Green. Mariana died on March 26, 2019, after a short but vicious fight with cancer.

Lions take important win over Stamford

The Lion baseball team picked another pair of wins last week, with the most significant being the district opener in Stamford. Albany hosted Baird on Tuesday, earning a 16-6 victory to keep the streak going and improving the overall mark to 8-4. Details will be reported next week.

Albany to host track meet Thursday

The girls track team finished as the fourth place team at the Eastland track meet last week, while the varsity boys placed sixth out of eight teams present. The JV boys had the best team total of the day for Albany, placing third overall with 83 points.
