SAMMY SHIRLEY

Sammy Kay Shirley, 77 of Albany, TX passed away on Nov. 25, 2019 surrounded by loved ones. 

The family will hold a private memorial service. Services are under direction of North’s Funeral Home.

Sam was born in Kermit, TX to Willie May and Franklin Homer Shirley on Oct. 1, 1942. He went to school in Odessa, TX. He worked in construction for most of his life, always working hard to provide for his family. 

He loved to joke and make people laugh, and could often be found spinning around the dance floor to a good country and western song.

T.G. WILIE

Thomas Guy Wilie, “T.G.” of Willow Park and formerly of Albany, passed away Friday, Oct. 25, 2019.

T.G. was born Jan. 27, 1943, to Chloe Dell Ross and A.C. (Pete) Wilie in Bryan, Texas. He spent his first eight years in Walnut Springs, Texas. 

The family moved to Albany, Texas, when T.G. was in third grade where he made life-long friends in the Albany Independent School District. 

CECIL “SONNY”  TAYLOR

Cecil “Sonny” Taylor, age 57 of Big Spring, passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2019. Graveside funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 14 at the Albany Cemetery. Interment followed under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Cecil Eugene Taylor was born Dec. 7, 1961 in Abilene, Texas to parents Wayland Eugene Taylor and Patsy Edgar Taylor. He graduated from Lake Highlands High School in Dallas and went on to serve in the United States Army. 

Allen Davis

Funeral services for Allen Davis were held in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview on Friday, Oct. 11, 2019. A graveside service was held on Saturday, Oct. 12 at Moran Cemetery in Moran, Texas. Allen went to be with the Lord on the morning of Oct. 6, 2019.

Allen Davis was born in Wichita Falls on Feb. 21, 1950 to parents Linnie and Carlie Horton Davis. He lived in Wichita Falls through his childhood and then moved to Graham, Texas where he graduated from Graham High School. Following his graduation, Allen attended Midwestern University in Wichita Falls. 

KRISTY BRINEGAR

Kristy Brinegar, age 44 of Breckenridge, passed away Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 10 at Gunsight Baptist Church with Patrick Frishe officiating. Services have been entrusted to Morehart Mortuary.

Kristy Dene Smith was born Nov. 7, 1974 in Temple, Texas to Rickey Eugene Smith and Dorothy “Lou” Boyle Smith. 

On July 25, 2009, Kristy married Larry Brinegar. She worked as a manager at Chicken Express and was a member at Gunsight Baptist Church. 

FRANCES WHEELER

Frances Wheeler, age 68 of Albany, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019. Graveside funeral services were held Sunday, October 6 at the Albany Cemetery Pavilion with Pastor Paul Johnston officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Frances Gazelle Alexander was born June 20, 1951 in Gorman, Texas to Hiram Franklin “Frank” Alexander and Juanita Gazelle Beck Alexander. She graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1969. On June 6, 1969, she married Jimmie Wheeler. 

BOBBY KEY

Bobby Key, age 84 of Albany, passed away Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 10 at Bethel Assembly with Pastor Paul Johnston officiating. Interment will follow in the Albany Ceme-tery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. 

Bobby Linn Key was born Feb. 16, 1935 in Throckmorton, Texas to Delmon Wortham Key and Letha Bell Robinson Key. 

Following graduation from Throckmorton High School, Bobby started his own tile business. He owned and operated Key Tile for 37 years. 

PRISCILLA GATES

Lifelong Albany resident, Priscilla Gates, age 84, entered her Heavenly Home on Oct. 4, 2019.  Services were held at the First Christian Church on the morning of Tuesday, Oct, 8 with Pastor Brad McBee officiating. Interment followed in the Albany Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Born in the Stamford Hospital on March 21, 1935, to George Robert Howsley and Lucy Duncan Howsley, Priscilla Ann was a member of a longtime Shackelford County pioneering family.

LONNIE BUERGER

It is with great sadness that the family of Lonnie Robert Buerger announces his passing on Sept. 9, 2019 at the age of 70 years. 

Lonnie was born to parents Walter and Virginia Tucker Buerger on Feb. 22, 1949 in Gorman, Texas. He graduated from Levelland High School in Levelland, Texas. 

Lonnie enlisted in the United States Army from 1969 to 1975 and served with the Army’s Air Defense 4th Battalion 44th Artillery during the Vietnam War. 

Lonnie was a stalwart Christian and member of Crossroads Deaf Fellowship Church in Goliad, Texas. 

MARY HARGROVE

Mary Hargrove, 86, of Throckmorton, passed away Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019. Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 21st at the First Baptist Church in Throckmorton with Rev. Mike McKinney officiating. Interment followed in the Willow Cemetery in Haskell under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Mary Sue Lancaster was born Apr. 16, 1933 in the Roberts Community of Haskell County to parents, Ray Lancaster and Stella Bilderback Lancaster. After graduating high school, she married Gaylon Lavon Hargrove on Nov. 10, 1951 in Haskell.
