Booths from about 15 area agencies will be set up to provide fun for local youngsters while also handing out information about the services and support available to local residents.

The Albany Lady Lions saw a frustrating softball season end Friday,April 26 with a 12-0 loss to Anson in a Class 2A bi-district playoff. Albany finished 8-5 in a seasonthatbeganwithjust nine players on the roster.
Albany will have six entries comprising nine athletes vying for state berthsWednesday-Thursday, May8-9attheRegion II-2A tennis tournament atRichlandTennisCenter in North Richland Hills. The top two finishers in each draw qualify for the Class 2A state tournament, scheduled for Thursday-Friday, May 16-17 at Blossom Tennis Center in SanAntonio.
Emily Murk of Moran, daughter of Melissa Murk, was presented the President’s Outstanding Student Award as the top student in the Cisco College Theatre Department at a banquet April 22 at the Cisco campus.
Moran High School’s chapter of the National Honor Society inducted two new members Monday, April 29 at Moran Events Center. Senior Danny O’Keefe and sophomore Jayla Bussell received their pins in a brief ceremony.
Moran took three entries to the junior high district tennis tournament Wednesday, May 1 at Eula. CompetingwereJaelynn Courtney and Amelia York in girls doubles, Ricky Lee and Rob Williams in boys doubles, and James Hise in boys singles.
