Early voting begins for primaries

by Kathy Thomson Tuesday, Feb. 18 was the first day of early voting for the March 3 primary election, with balloting taking place in the foyer on the first floor of the Shackelford County Courthouse. As of press time on Tuesday afternoon, 22 voters had cast ballots.

Boys to play Christoval for bi-district

By Donnie A. Lucas The varsity Lion basketball team sewed up a playoff berth last week with a win over Cross Plains, finishing the regular season at home Tuesday against Stamford. Albany lost the finale to the undefeated district winning Bulldogs 75-57. Complete results will be reported next week.

Little Dribblers continue games in Albany gym

By Kathy Thomson Seven local Little Dribblers teams continued their season, playing two games each in the old Albany High School gym last Saturday, Feb. 15. The next set of matches will take place this Saturday, Feb. 22, starting at 8:30 a.m. with a match between the Boys’ Blue and Grey teams.

8 AHS seniors named to FCA teams

Self-defense classes continue

Lady Bulldogs end basketball season

By Kathy Thomson The Moran basketball season ended this week with the high school boys playing in Ranger on Tuesday, Feb. 18. Results from that game and from the Bulldogs’ match in Strawn on Feb. 11 were not available at press time and will be reported next week.

MISD students kick off Kids Heart Challenge

Moran musical set Feb. 22

The monthly country and western musical will continue this month on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the Moran Community Center. Moran singer-songwriter M.L. “Marty” Clifford coordinates the event, which takes place the fourth Saturday of each month.
