Vernon LaVerrel Floyd Dennis Pittman passed into the arms of Jesus on Dec. 16, 2022 at 1:00 a.m., in the presence of her loving daughter Ginger Dennis Locker at Redstone Park Assisted Living in Brownwood, Texas.

DEBRIA TREJO

Debria Raye Trejo, 56, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022. Debria was born Apr. 22, 1966, in Sunset, Texas, to Mary Ann Reimer and James Ross Townsend. She graduated from Baird High School in 1985.

On Aug. 18, 1985, she married Steve Trejo in Albany, Texas, and they later welcomed three children. In 2006, she earned her degree in Chemical Dependency Counseling which enabled her to help others even more.

OLIVIA REAMES

Olivia Reames, age 85 of Albany, passed away Monday, Dec. 5, 2022. Graveside services were held Wednesday, Dec. 7 at the Albany Cemetery pavilion with Jeff Pleasant officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Olivia Mae Salters was born July 19, 1937 in Olney, Texas to Gordon Salters and Nancy Catherine Sides Salters. She graduated in May of 1955 from Albany High School. She met John Douglas Reames in October of 1954 on a blind date. They were soon married on June 14, 1955.

MELANIE MITCHELL

Melanie Dawn Mitchell, 54, of Albany, TX passed away on Nov. 30, 2022.

Melanie was born on Jan. 28, 1968, to Eugene Edward Mitchell and Sharon Midkiff Mitchell in Gorman, TX. Melanie was baptized at Moran First Baptist Church.

She attended Moran School and graduated from Albany Jr./Sr. High School. She went on to study at Texas A&M University where she majored in pre-veterinary science and minored in “social studies” also known as “partying.”

DEWEY MARTYN

Dewey Martyn, age 76 of Burleson, passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022. Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 26 at Morehart Mortuary of Breckenridge with Pastor Andy Rodgers officiating.  Interment followed in the Albany Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Dewey Edward Martyn was born July 5, 1946 in Globe, Arizona to R.E. “Bob” Martyn and Leona Riley Martyn. He graduated from Albany High School and then went on to earn his Associate’s Degree from Cisco Junior College. He also enlisted and served in the United States Air Force until his honorable discharge.

JOHN STOCKDALE

 

John William Proctor Stockdale, of Jacksboro, Texas, passed away peacefully at home and in the presence of loved ones on Nov. 10, 2022 at the age of 83.

John Stockdale was born April 11, 1939 in Fort Worth, Texas to Ernest Frederick Stockdale, Sr., an attorney, and Alice Eitelman Stockdale, a teacher and artist. John had two siblings, his sister Linda Sikes and brother Fred Stockdale.

Coach Ken Patterson, age 86, was freed from everything that hinders on Wednesday morning, Nov. 9, 2022, having run the race with perseverance and having fixed his eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of faith. (Hebrews 12:1-2)

He was born in Roby, Texas to Joseph and Renvie (Floyd) Patterson, grew up in Munday, Texas, and graduated from Howard Payne University, where he met and married Judy Lind Bell of Stephenville on May 12, 1962. She preceded him in death.

LOIS MOTLEY

Elve Lois Motley of Albany passed away at 83 years of age on Saturday evening Oct. 22, 2022 at 5:31 p.m.

She was born April 5, 1939. Elve Lois Viljoin and George Motley were married in Beaumont, Texas on April 26, 1980.

Elve Lois was employed by Human Resources for Port Arthur, Texas for nine years, andGeorge was employed by Blue Gary Well Service in Winnie, Texas.

BOONE ASKEW

Robert Boone Askew, age 17, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022 in Erath County. Boone was born Nov. 18, 2004 in Abilene, TX to Shawn and Angela Askew.

Boone was raised in Albany and Comanche, Texas where he enjoyed showing livestock, playing sports and learning the fiddle. At an early age, he discovered his passion for the cowboy way of life.

BOBBY RAY SMITH

Bobby Ray Smith was born on Dec. 8, 1953 to Carrol and Ruth Smith in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was an only child.

Bobby is a sixth generation Texan. His ancestors held four original land grants, written in Spanish, for the Republic of Texas. His great-great-grandfather was one of the original Texas Rangers and his ancestors received land in Llano County for their service at the San Jacinto Battle. He descended from a long line of ranchers in both Llano and Mason counties. This area was always the home of his heart.
