After graduating from Rio Grande High School in 1968, Kathy attended New Mexico State University where she met the love of her life, James “Jim” Hobbs, then classified as a junior at NMSU. They shared similar interests in their love for horses, rodeos, and dancing. Jim even used Kathy’s pet skunks, Pete and Repeat, in his then rodeo clown acts when dating. They soon married on February 21, 1974 where they had just celebrated 51 beautiful years together.

She is preceded in death by her parents, the late Francis Donald Hastings and Margorie Mae Hatfield.
Kathy’s greatest passion was her faith in Jesus Christ. She lived each day with grace, love and devotion, shining his light through her words and actions. Kathy was actively involved in Bible Study Fellowship, where she poured her heart into studying, teaching and encouraging others in their walk with Christ. Her life was a living testimony of her faith, and her legacy will continue in the lives of all who knew and loved her.
