The Albany Lady Lions will enter the volleyball playoffs as the No. 2 seed out of District 6-2A after splitting matches with Coleman and Hawley.

Pigeons to race from Albany to Houston

The Gulf Coast Racing Pigeon Association is planning to start one of its biggest races of the year Thursday,Nov.2inAlbany. MikeBelloftheGCRPA, based in Houston, said the event is being held in conjunction with the 2023 AUConvention,whichwill beheldNov.1-4inHouston “We’ve probably got 50-60 pigeon breeders represented in this race,” Bell said.

AISD observes Dyslexia Awareness

♦ Students with dyslexia face countless problems during the years they are in the classroom and throughout their lifetimes, an issue that the Albany ISD is fighting to reduce. October is Dyslexia Awareness Month, and Albany ISD specialist Kristie Smith has been trying to share as many facts about dyslexia as possible.
