Local campus ‘locked down’ briefly

A lockdown at the Albany secondary campus on Tuesday, ordered as the result of an altercation taking place a few blocks away, lasted just a few minutes, but ended with a local man arrested and charged with two counts of attempted capital murder of a peace officer, along with a secondary charge of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. Roll-offs to be in parking lot

Albany citizens are reminded that this weekend May 10-12 will be the annual “Weekend Trash Dump, with large rolloffs to be located on the Chamber of Commerce parking lot. Spencer wins AISD election

ChallengerReggySpencer defeated incumbent Bo Brown for the Place 3 seat in the Albany ISD trustee election, held last Saturday, May 4. Spencer ended up with 177 votes to Brown’s even 100, the great majority of those ballots recorded during the early voting period or by mail.
