Testing to start this month

Dates for state-required testing for both elementary and secondary students have been pushed back in the school year by about two weeks, with both STAAR and end-of-course (EOC) tests administered during April and May.

The first tests – English I/Reading Language Arts (RLA) for seventh and eighth grade – will be April 19, as well as RLA STAAR that day for grades 3-6. Tests will continue with EOC English II on April 20. In May, tests will include STAAR science and EOC biology May 2, eighth grade social studies and EOC U.S. history May 3, fifth grade science May 5,  and seventh/eighth grade math and EOC algebra I May 9, along with the STAAR math test May 9 for grades 3-6.

There will be STAAR and EOC make-up days as needed on April 21 and May 10, with retests in June.
