The deadline to request a ballot by mail was last Friday, Oct. 28.
Polling Places
While early in-person voting was held only at the Shackelford County courthouse, four polling locations will be open on the Nov. 8 Election Day.
Voting Precincts 101, 102, 307, and 406 will vote at the county courthouse, while Precinct 303 will vote at the Moran Community Center in Moran.
Voting for Precinct 404 will be conducted at the Precinct 4 Barn at 100 CR 241 in Lueders, and the Precinct 405 box will be located at the Rockhill building in Hamby on County Road 155.
All polling locations will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on the day of the election.
All voters will be required to present current picture IDs. Voter registration cards are helpful but are not required.
Voters who are assigned to the county courthouse should be aware that the courthouse parking lot is still under construction. Visitors must park on either the north or east sides of the square. The north door has handicapped accessibility. The west door facing Main Street will be locked for security reasons and can not be accessed.
While no county level offices are contested this cycle, there are several contested state offices as well as the seat for the 19th District of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives.
