Fandangle capital campaign reaches halfway mark
The Fort Griffin Fandangle Association announced this week that its ongoing capital campaign has reached a major milestone, with $150,000 raised toward its $300,000 goal.
The fundraising effort, launched to support a series of critical improvements to the historic Prairie Theater and its production facilities, has drawn wide support from local donors. Organizers expressed gratitude for the generosity shown so far and are now urging the community to help carry the campaign to the finish line.
Funds from the campaign will be used to build a new backstage prop barn, allowing the Fandangle crew to better store and preserve the large set pieces and materials that bring the show to life each summer. Additional projects include infrastructure upgrades and enhancements to the Prairie Theater grounds to improve the overall experience for both cast and audience.
The campaign comes as preparations continue for the 2025 Fort Griffin Fandangle, with performances scheduled for June 20–21 and 27–28.
“Every gift — big or small — moves us closer to our goal,” the Association stated in a message to supporters. “And every dollar goes directly toward keeping the Fandangle strong, sustainable, and uniquely Albany.”
Donations are tax-deductible and may be mailed to the Fort Griffin Fandangle Association at P.O. Box 2017, Albany, TX 76430.
With half the goal already met and opening night just weeks away, Fandangle leaders are encouraging supporters to help finish what’s been started — and keep the lights shining on Texas’ oldest outdoor musical.
Once the 2025 show concludes, the Association plans to begin seeking bids for the construction of the new prop barn.
