Community pep rally set tonight

The Albany Athletic Booster Club is gearing up for another round of playoff activities as the Albany Lions continue to advance in the Class 2A Division II bracket.

The Lions face the Collinsville Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 in a state quarterfinal game at Ram Stadium in Mineral Wells.

The weekly community pep rally will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1 (tonight) at the Bank Park.

Spirit Drum

Beating of the spirit drum will begin tonight about 8:00 p.m. following the pep rally in advance of the Lions’ playoff game.

The cheerleaders will take the traditional first hour shift, and the drum beating will continue until the team leaves on Friday afternoon.

Send-Off

The traditional post-season send-off is set for 3:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 at the Bank Park.

All Lion fans are encouraged to gather in the downtown block or along Main Street.

Tickets for Friday’s game are available only at the gate. Seat prices are $6 for adults and $4 for students. All ticket purchases are cash only.

Coaches, district, and senior citizens passes will be honored.
