AHS girls continue first round of district

By Donnie A. Lucas The varsity Lady Lions suffered a district loss to Hawley on Saturday, but still hold a 2-1 mark in the first round of district action. The Lady Lions traveled to Coleman on Tuesday for a non-district game, bringing home a 27-25, 25-18, 25-20, win.

Jr. high football teams record wins

By Donnie A. Lucas Both junior high football teams got back in the win column last week in Hawley, improving to 2-1 for the season. The Cubs will travel to Peaster on Thursday (today) for games starting at 4:30 p.m. for the seventh grade. The eighth grade game will follow at about 5:45 p.m.

Charity K golf tournament slated this Friday

It is with great sadness that the family of Lonnie Robert Buerger announces his passing on Sept. 9, 2019 at the age of 70 years.  Lonnie was born to parents Walter and Virginia Tucker Buerger on Feb. 22, 1949 in Gorman, Texas. He graduated from Levelland High School in Levelland, Texas.

Mary Hargrove, 86, of Throckmorton, passed away Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019. Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 21st at the First Baptist Church in Throckmorton with Rev. Mike McKinney officiating. Interment followed in the Willow Cemetery in Haskell under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.
