The Albany Little Dribblers Association wrapped up its 2024 season Saturday, March 2 with two teams going undefeated. Red went 8-0 to top the girls standings with Gray going 8-0 in the boys division.
The Albany Lions and Lady Lions track teams make their second outing of the season Thursday, March 7 (today) at Cisco. The track teams will next compete Saturday, March 16 at Graham’s Possum Kingdom Relays.
Albany’s Myleigh Leveridge competed in her first golf tournament of the spring Monday, March 4 at the Eula tournament at Shady Oaks Golf Course. On Wednesday, March 6, the Albany boys played in the Millsap tournament at Lipan’s Sugar Tree Golf Club.
Albany’s Sidney Russell claimed her second tournament title of the spring Monday, March 4, winning the girls singles draw at Vernon. The Albany tennis program will be off through spring break, returning to action Thursday, March 28 at Abilene High.
For the second time in three years, Albany’s Joshua Dyer made his first home run of the season a big one. The blast came Saturday, March 2 in Dyer’s first appearance of the season.
TheAlbanyJuniorHigh track teams opened their season with two meets in the past week, winning three team titles. The Cubs and Lady Cubs will be off through spring break, returning to action on Friday, March 22 at Clyde.
Albany Little League will begin its 2024 season Monday, March 18 with competition in the Minors and Majors age groups. League organizer Paul Hamilton said 145 players from six age groups registered to play this season.
