Directors of the Shackelford County Appraisal District (SCAD) have set a public hearing for the proposed 2025 budget on Friday, Sept. 13 at 7:30 a.m.

Several local government entities have set or are in the process of scheduling meetings to approve budgets and/or tax rates, including the following: •Shackelford County: Sept. 9, budget and tax rate hearing 8:45 a.m.

A special meeting is set for Friday, Aug. 30 for the Albany ISD Board of Trustees to approve the 2024-25 budget and adopt a tax rate following a mandatory hearing that is open to the public.

Albany’s city council met in special session on Tuesday to propose a tax rate, electing to go with the “No New Revenue” (NNR) rate of 49.75 cents. The council is expected to approve the rate at their next meeting on Sept.
