SCHC projects reviewed

Commissioners to install markers Kathy Bales presented several projects and requests on behalf of the Shackelford County Historical Commission during Monday’s meeting of the county commissioners. Commissioner Lanhan Martin said he would install markers at Moran, stating that he had already obtained permission from landowner Alice Branham to place the marker just inside the boundaries of her property and outside of the right-of-way.

Art enthusiasts are invited to the Old Jail Art Center this Saturday evening, Nov. 11 for a chance to purchase paintings, sculptures, etchings, sketches, photographs, and even some antique furniture from among the 63 lots contributed to the museum’s15thbiennialartauction and party, titled the OJAC Art Heist! Funds raised will benefit the OldJail’sAcquisitionsFundand the conservation of the permanent collection, according to collections manager and associate curator Amy Kelly.
