By Sandy Morris Recent Albany High School graduate Addie Beth Denton will compete at the Texas High School Rodeo Finals scheduled for Sunday, June 6 to Saturday, June 12 at the Taylor County Expo Center in Abilene.  This will be Denton’s fourth year to qualify for the THSR state finals.

By Sandy Morris The Albany Volunteer Fire Department responded to a small structure fire on Conrad Street in the early morning hours on Sunday, May 30. On arrival, volunteers found a trailer fully engulfed in flames.

By Sandy Morris Pick-up dates for the June distribution of the commodity food program  provided by Shackelford County are June 3 and 4. Certified families in Moran should pick up their food at Moran City Hall between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 3.

By Sandy Morris Albany’s First Baptist Church will host a “Mexican Pile-On” fundraiser on Sunday, June 6. The meal will be served in the FBC Fellowship Hall immediately following the Sunday worship service. In addition to the meal, baked goods will be available for purchase.
