Moran Independent School District will begin its spring semester Monday, Jan. 8 with an in-service day for faculty and staff before classes resume Tuesday, Jan.

The first Chamber luncheon of 2024 is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 5 at the Icehouse.

Moran rancher Sam Snyder was elected vice president of the Texas Farm Bureau board of directors in December at its 90th annual meeting in Frisco. Snyder has represented District 7 on the board since 2019.

Two Albany FFA students brought home prizes from the Arizona National Livestock Show, held Dec. 27-31 in Phoenix.

During September, on the late Robert Nail’s birth date, and on through the Albany High School homecoming week, support was sought during the annual fundraising drive for “Dollars for Bob’s Scholarships.”

Albany students and staff will head back to the classroom next week, with teachersandstaffreporting on Monday, Jan. 8, and students coming the following day on Tuesday, Jan 9.
