Fall decor going up Sept. 26

By Lynsi Musselman Fall is less than a week away, and fall decorations are about to appear on Main Street, as they have for a number of years. Albany Chamber of Commerce officer Lisa Barton said everyone in town and those passing through seem to appreciate the traditional fall decor.

2020 pig sale breaks sales records

By Lynsi Musselman The 34th annual pig sale that benefits the Shackelford County Youth Livestock Association held Sunday, Sept. 13 set a record on average price, gross sales, and registered buyers, according to organizer Mike Parsons. Sales totaled $75,900 with an average price of $774.

Feed Store to host game night

By Lynsi Musselman A high school night is planned Saturday, Sept. 12 from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. at The Feed Store. Feed Store director Tisha Wilkins said new games that have been replaced or added will be introduced, with plans for a three on three basketball tournament and a corn hole tournament.

By Lynsi Musselman The team of Williams and Harris tied with Barton and Balliew to win the Championship Flight at the annual Albany Labor Day Golf Tournament. Both teams had a two-day total of 128 strokes, followed by Clegg and Fairchild in third with 129.

Moran water rates to go up with Oct. billing

By Lynsi Musselman Water customers in the City of Moran will see an increase in their bills starting with the Oct. 1 billing cycle. The new rates include an increase of $5.75 to the base charge that covers the first 2,000 gallons of usage.
