Winter items needed at Closet Angels

Closet Angels has been offering blankets and winter clothing items to local residents in need to help get them get through the extreme cold afflicting the area. Closet Angels director Lori Reames said 16 blankets have been distributed as of Tuesday, Jan.

24 organizations benefit from funding

Even though there were times that it looked as if the Albany Chest would fall short of its 2023 goal, donations poured in at the end of the year, surpassing the$45,000goalandclosing outtheyearwithcollections of $51,857.

Board members met Wednesday, Jan. 10 and decided to give the 24 beneficiaries the amounts they requested up to the $3,000 limit.
