Local business owners need to file renditions by next Monday April 15, according to Shackelford CAD County chief appraiser Clayton Snyder. Business taxpayers are requiredbythestatetorender byApril 15, but Snyder explainedthatheisallowed to grant a 30-day extension to May 15 if those requests are received in writing by April 15, with a possible second 15-day extension.

Moran students view eclipse from 3 sites

Moran students witnessed the total solar eclipse from three vantage points Monday, April 8. A group of 68 students from fourth through 12th grades and eight faculty members traveled to San Saba, which was in the zone of totality.

Cast rehearses for 2024 Sampler

The Membership Sampler for the 2024 edition of the Fort Griffin Fandangle is just over a week away, set this year for Saturday, April 20 at Collins Creek Ranch near Fort Griffin. Practices are set for Thursday (today) and next Tuesday at the Prairie Theater starting at 6:30 p.m., then moving to Collins Creek for 7:00 p.m.

Bake sale to raise camp funds

The youth group of Albany’s First Baptist Church will conduct a fundraiser bake saale Saturday, April 20. All proceeds go to send FBC Albany youth to church camp this summer.

County 4-Hers qualify for state

Shackelford County horsejudgingteamsplaced well Friday, April 5 at the District 7 Horse Judging contest in San Angelo with the senior team qualifying for state for the second year in a row.
