TheAlbany school board met in special session on Tuesday eveningtoconsiderSuperintendent Jonathan Scott’s contract, along with possible action items that included “accept resignations and hire personnel.” Following about three hours in closed session, the board recessed the meeting until 2:00 p.m.

Shackelford County’s 150th anniversary committee unveiled a commemorative flag for the sesquicentennial celebration, along with announcing a fundraising campaign, plans for a 150 King and Queen, and the commissioning of a sculpture tomarkthemilestone.

June 3 is the deadline this year to register for the Big Country Fellowship of Athletes Summer Camp. The annual camp will run Monday through Friday, June 17 -21 at Hardin Simmons University.
New exhibitions will open at the Old Jail Art Center with an opening celebration for OJAC members and guests on Saturday, June 8. The two special exhibits can be viewed by the public throughout the summer.
