Little League games delayed

Albany Little League’s regular season will last just a little longer thanks to a pair of rainy days last week. Little League president Paul Hamilton said games scheduled for Thursday, May 2 and Friday, May 3 will be made up next week.

Nine Albany tennis players made their bids to qualify for the Class 2A state tournament this week, competing Wednesday- Thursday, May 8-9 at the Region II-2A tournament at Richland Tennis Center in North Richland Hills. No results were available at press time.

TheMoranboysdoubles tam of CalebYork and Ellis Hise will compete in the Region II-1A tennis tournament Thursday-Friday, May 9-10 at San Angelo. A top-two finish at the regional tournament will earn the duo a berth in the Class 1A state tournament, scheduled for Thursday-Friday, May 16-17 at Blossom Tennis Center in San Antonio.
