With online “bill pay” checks sometimes delayed in processing and in the mail, City of Albany water customers are reminded that $10 late fees cannot be refunded when the processing center does not mail the checks on time or if they are delayed in the mail.

Friends of the Old Jail Art Center and fellow Albany Lion fans are invited to meet on the OJAC grounds Friday, Nov. 8 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for a taco tailgate party prior to the Albany-Hamlin home football game.

A meeting that started off on a contentious note only got more intense as the night went on, with strong opinions surfacing on almost every agenda item of the Shackelford County HospitalDistrict’sMonday,Oct. 21 session.

Next Thursday will be a big day in downtown Albany, with local merchants set up to dole out candy and the annual Halloween Costume Contest starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Bank Park.
