Words about the WORD - Doug Thomas, Trinity Episcopal

One of the underlying themes of the Bible is the loss of home and the search for another. It began with Adam and Eve leaving the Garden of Eden. Then, at the Tower of Babel, the Lord scattered the people over the face of the Earth. Those two losses occurred because of sin.

But the next two occurred because of hope. Abraham left his father’s house and the Children of Israel left Egypt because of God’s promise to lead them to new homes in the Promised Land.

Lady Lions show progress in final district games

By Sam Waller

The Albany Lady Lions continued their run of strong play last week, defeating Abilene TLCA before running into a buzzsaw at Cisco.

The Lady Lions (5-19 overall, 2-9 District 10-2A) closed out the season Tuesday, Feb. 4 with a 52-32 loss against Anson. Details will be reported next week.

Caroline Holson, the team’s lone senior, was ill and unable to attend senior recognition night.

“It’s sad because I don’t want to be done with her,” first year Lady Lions head coach Ashlyn Bevel said. “She’s done well for me.”
