Candy, costumes set this afternoon

Downtown Albany will likely be running amuck with ghosts, goblins, and ghouls on Thursday (today) as local merchants set up for trick-or-treat beginning at 4:00 p.m., which will be followed by the annual Halloween Costume Contest set to start at 5:00 p.m. at the Bank Park.

Speed limits set for 3 county roads

IT company rep gathers information Following the required public hearing at the beginning of Monday’s meeting of the Shackelford County commissioners, the elected officials voted unanimously to enact 35 mile per hour speed limits on three county roads within Precinct 1. Commissioner Steve Riley had requested the speed limits last month on CR 174, 117, and 119.
