One of golf’s most cherished achievements made the difference Saturday, Aug. 3 in the Albany Masonic Lodge atAlbany Golf Course.

The Albany Athletic Booster Club kicks off activities for the 2024-25 school year Monday, Aug. 12 with its annual Ice Cream Supper.

While the Albany football and volleyball programs got started bright and early in the morning, the cross country program waited for the cool of evening to conduct its first workout on Monday, Aug. 5.

Plenty of openings remainforthisweekend’s Albany PTO and Sam Tidwell Memorial Scholarship Tournament. The three-person scramble is set for Saturday- Sunday,Aug.10-11 at Albany Golf Course.

Increased participation will make life more pleasant for the Moran football and volleyball programs, which began preseason practices Monday, Aug. 5.

The Albany Masonic Lodge enjoyed a banner year last year with its scholarship fundraising golf event, and organizers look to at least match that success this year. The Albany Masonic LodgeScholarshipTournament is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

The Albany Lions football program spent this week preparing for the start of preseason practice. Coaches distributed equipment to approximately 50 players, starting Monday, July 29 with seniors and other returning lettermen.

The Albany Lady Lions volleyball program begins the chase for another playoff berth bright and early on Monday, Aug. 5.

About 20 openings remain for the Albany PTO andSamTidwellMemorial Scholarship Tournament, set for Saturday-Sunday, Aug. 10-11 .
