The Albany High School varsity tennis team earned a clean sweep of champions at the district tournament, advancing nine players to the regional meet later this month in all five divisions.

Tennis coach Sara Wilson commented that this is the first time in her 21 years of coaching, and possibly ever, that Albany has won first place in every category.

In addition, Albany won team titles in both the girls and boys divisions, as well as the overall district title.

The last overall team championship was in 2018, said Wilson.

“I have a tremendous group of talented tennis players,” said the coach. “I cannot tell you how proud I am of all of them.”

The regional tournament will be held April 29-30 at the Richland Tennis Center in Richland Hills.
