Persons interested in adding the name of a veteran toaadditionalmarker to be set on the courthouse square next to other monuments can do so for free if information is provided by May 15. The project is headed by Mary Kay O’Connor, who explained that two new monument stones have been ordered and paid for by donations.

From Friday, May 10 to Sunday, May 12, local citizens will have the opportunity to get rid of large unwanted items at the annual “Weekend Trash Dump.” The City of Albany will provide large roll-offs to be located in the Chamber of Commerce parking lot. The cleanup, especially onandaround MainStreet, is an effort to beautify the town before visitors start arriving for Fandangle, according to council member Lynsi Musselman.

A forum to discuss the future of Texas communities, in particular Albany and Shackelford County, is set for Tuesday, April 30 at the Courthouse. Allcommunitymembers are invited to attend.
