MISD to dismiss early Friday

Moran ISD will have early release at 1:00 p.m. Friday on the last day of class.

“We had some extra minutes left, so we decided to treat everybody and let them go an extra half a day early,” superintendent Dr. John Denson said.

Principal Jo Hise said lunch will be served before students are dismissed for the summer.

Field Day

Moran will have its annual field day for elementary students Thursday, May 26 (today), followed by Ag Olympics after lunch.

The elementary field day will include running races and events such as softball throw and an obstacle course.

The Ag Olympics will follow a similar theme for secondary students with events such as moving feed sacks and stacking bolts with welding rods.

“The kids are pretty excited about Ag Olympics,” Moran ag teacher Minnie Denson said. “They haven’t actually gotten to participate in any kind of field day in the past because they’re helping with the elementary event.”
