The Albany ISD bands are ready to get everyone into the holiday spirit tonight with their yearly Christmas concert.

The sixth grade, seventh grade, and high school bands will be performing this evening in the high school auditorium.

The sixth grade band will perform first at 6:30 p.m. and will be playing Jingle Bells and Jolly Old St. Nick.

The seventh grade band will follow at 7:15 p.m. and will perform Jingle Bells, The Spirit of St. Nick, and African Noel.

The trumpet section will present a trio arrangement of Up On the Housetop.

Rounding out the night of Christmas music, the Albany High School band will perform at 8:00 p.m.

The high school set list includes Albany Fanfare, Carol of the Bells, and Angels We Have Heard on High.

“The high school concert will have their first ‘Ugly Christmas Sweater Concert’,” band director Will Vaughan said. “We are encouraging students to dress up in ugly sweaters for the performance.”

Concert times have been staggered to promote social distancing, and rows will be marked to be left empty and spaced out also to encourage distancing.
