Christmas events set by churches

With Christmas a week away, local churches have announced their traditional Christmas activities scheduled for the holiday.

First Christian 

First Christian Church will hold a traditional Christmas Eve candlelight communion service at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 24.

Friendship Baptist

Friendship Baptist Church will hold its Christmas service on Sunday, Dec. 20 at 10:30 a.m.

The service will include the Lord’s Supper and a candlelight service.

No Sunday School will be held that morning. 

First Methodist

First United Methodist Church will hold its Christmas Eve candlelight service on Thursday, Dec. 24 at 6:00 p.m.

Trinity Lutheran

Trinity Lutheran Church will present the Children’s Christmas program on Thursday, Dec. 24 at 6:30 p.m. 

The Christmas Day service will be held on Friday, Dec. 25 at 10:30 a.m.

Everyone is welcome to attend. 

MMPC

Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church will have a 6:00 p.m. Christmas Eve service on Thursday, Dec. 24.

The service will held outside in the “backyard” unless the weather is bad, in which case it will be moved inside. 

MMPC will hold the annual Christmas Day Feast on Friday, Dec. 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

No dine-in meals will be available this year due to COVID concerns, but meals are available to go or by delivery.
