Local students have had the opportunity to attend three separate sports camps over the last two weeks, with a couple more slated for later in July.

The annual basketball camp and a new tennis camp were both held this week, with the all-sports camp held the week before.

There is about a six-week break before the remaining volleyball camp and cheerleading camp in July.

Volleyball Camp

Coach M.J. Reneau is hosting a three-day volleyball camp on July 19-21 at the high school.

The cost is $25 and includes a camp T-shirt.

Campers will be divided into three groups, including students entering grade 1-3, who will meet at 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.

Students entering grades 4-6 will meet from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon each day, while grades 7-9 campers will meet from 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.

Forms were sent home with students at the end of the school year, but anyone needing more information can contact Reneau at 325-762-0351.

Cheerleading Camp

A cheerleading camp for students age three through sixth grade is set for July 26-28.

Sessions will be held at the high school gym from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. each day.

Participants will be divided into group by age, with members of the junior high and high school cheer teams providing the instruction.

The cost of the camp is $35, with each additional sibling registration set at $20.

Students will be taught cheers and chants, along with a dance routine to be showcased at the annual Ice Cream Supper in August.

Forms are available at the grade school and can be mailed along with payment to Nickie Leveridge, P.O. Box 2050, Albany, Tx.

The cost of the camp includes a T-shirt if forms and payment are received by July 12. Registrations made after that date will not include a T-shirt.
